Timeshare Help Source Review

Timeshare Help Source is another company that may be able to help you get out of a timeshare. They are located in Colorado Springs, CO, and have been in business since 2018.

Timeshare Help Source Website

At first glance, Timeshare Help Source seems to have a strong online presence, with a well-designed website that’s clean-looking and very easy to navigate. It mostly consists of a Home page, a section on their processes, a blog, and a Contact page. Their links to their social media platforms — Twitter, Facebook, and Medium — show that they are very active online in general.

However, once we started reading the website more closely, we came up with more questions than answers. The Process section is particularly interesting: Timeshare Help Source outlines here the steps they take to help people with their timeshares, in essence, but it is not clear whether or not they are actually helping people exit their timeshares. The steps they list are as follows:

  • “Step 1: Discovery. Just like every timeshare contract is unique, every timeshare owner is unique. Unique in your needs, wants and desire for your family. The goal of our discovery process is to figure out your specific needs.”
  • “Step 2: Education. Our certified speakers will cover all new & pertinent information regarding the current state of the timeshare industry. This is where you will have a chance to take notes and even ask questions afterwards.”
  • “Step 3. Seminar Results: Our job is to help you leave our seminar more knowledgeable and with a plan. A plan on how to achieve what your family needs out of your timeshare, not what your timeshare needs out of your family.”

This language is pretty empty as far as describing a timeshare exit process. If you are trying to get out of a timeshare, you already know that your situation is unique, as well as what the timeshare industry is like. We are not really sure what attending a seminar has to do with getting out of a timeshare or addressing your contract and fees. It sounds like a situation that would simply require more payments from you, toward an unclear objective or end result.

The rest of the website is unfortunately devoid of details as well. There is copy speaking to Timeshare Help Source being owned by Charles Hearn on the Contact page, something that we easily verified. However, looking up Hearn’s background led us to discover that he is also the owner of a company called Hearn Media, LLC. Visiting Hearn Media’s website showed an entirely different photo of him to the one on the Timeshare Help Source website, and furthermore, that Timeshare Help Source is actually featured as a client on the Hearn Media website.

This led us to look into whether Charles Hearn has operated Timeshare Help Source under different names, or owned other businesses of a similar nature. True to form, we found that he was the owner of a company called Colorado Land Corporation from 2019 to 2020, at which point the company went first into noncompliance and then into delinquency.

From this we can conclude a few things — first, that Charles Hearn’s online presence is entirely constructed to fit whatever image he thinks would be profitable (for example, by using stock photos instead of pictures of himself); and second, that Timeshare Help Source is certainly not what it appears to be. Unfortunately, though, many timeshare exit companies use tactics like this, and create a seemingly robust online presence in order to appear legitimate when they are far from it.

Timeshare Help Source Reviews

The trend of Timeshare Help Source’s online presence continues with different sources of reviews. Timeshare Help Source is accredited with the BBB, and has several positive reviews there. They are also well-reviewed on Google and have one 5-star Yelp review. We found an abundance of PR-style articles about them as well in our research, all of which used similar language to these glowing reviews.

However, the few complaints Timeshare Help Source has with the BBB are quite resonant. One states:

  • I do not and have never owned a timeshare yet Timeshare Help Source continues to contact me regarding selling my timeshare. I was mailed an event invite recently which was followed up by a call to my cell phone from one of their representatives. I advised the representative that I do not own a timeshare and asked her to remove me from their calling/marketing list. She told me “that’s not how this works” and refused. I asked again and then hung up. Keep in mind I should have never been called as my number is on the FTC Do Not Call list and I have never done business with this company nor inquired about their services. Please help educate this company regarding the FTC Do Not Call guidelines as well as just good business practices in general. I have also reporting this violation to the FTC.”

The second is a follow-up to the first:

  • “I am rejecting this response because: I was asked by the company to provide more information regarding the complaint but I was only provided the options to accept or reject the response. My response: In addition to the mailing and original phone call that prompted my complaint I have received at least 2 other calls from the same third-party marketing company, one later that same day and one the following morning. I answered but because they use an auto-dialer and no representative immediately responded I hung up. To add to my complaint the third-party marketing company contracted by the business is spoofing their phone number to make it appear as the call is coming from a local number which at the least is an extremely unprofessional way to conduct business and at most is illegal to do. … Also why I can understand the companies attempt to distance themselves from the third-party marketing company I sure hope they understand that to the consumer they are effectively one in the same. Regardless of their status as an contracted company the original company is still responsible for ensuring they abide by all laws and should be held responsible for any issues that arise due to the third-party’s ignorance of the law. If these calls continue I will be seeking legal remedy.”

The main reason we are including these complaints, even though there’s only a few, is the use of cold calling as a sales tactic, and the high likelihood that this third party is connected with Timeshare Help Source. Approaching clients with promises of getting them out of a timeshare is a huge red flag, one that cannot be ignored even amidst what appears to be a body of positive reviews. The problem with this dynamic, of course, is how easy it is to fake positive reviews and rely solely on them for reputation management. Usually they are sufficient to evaluate a company as trustworthy or not, but the complexity of this situation cancels that out.

In addition to all of this, we found an interesting post on Reddit by someone named Brandon Gebhardt, which was essentially a promotion for Timeshare Help Source. It’s especially interesting because there is no employee with that name listed on Timeshare Help Source’s website, but the user photo is quite similar to the stock photo used for Charles Hearn.

This user’s posts do not really speak well to Timeshare Help Source having an honest approach. They’re advertisements, simply put, and are generally of this nature:

  • “When looking for a timeshare exit solution look no further than Timeshare Help Source! The only timeshare exit company that is accredited by the Better Business Bureau with not a single negative review. Timeshare Help Source doesn’t even have a review that is under 5 stars!”

His profile bio is not much better:

  • “I help unhappy timeshare owners exit their timeshares at Timeshare Help Source. If your looking for an exit solution Timeshare Help Source is the #1 timeshare cancellation company in the country.”

These outlandish claims and rather empty allusions to positive reviews are worthy of skepticism, and they definitely undermine the image that Timeshare Help Source seems to desperately want to emit. Fortunately it is clear enough that the tone of these posts is impersonal and advertise-y, and there was one Reddit user who responded in kind; while most of that thread was removed, what’s still visible is telling enough.

Timeshare Help Source Cost

Costs are not addressed anywhere on Timeshare Help Source’s website. Generally speaking, when it comes to timeshare exit companies, we always suggest finding out cost amounts ahead of time, and getting information on whether or not you can pay through escrow. You can learn more about why escrow is important on this page.

Timeshare Help Source Summary

While positive reviews and BBB accreditation are important, they aren’t everything, and if a timeshare exit company can’t give you information about how they’re going to help you, their promises and presence are virtually meaningless. It is incredibly easy for someone to build a nice website as a front, and then never deliver on their promises. While the reviews do not speak to this (yet), we really do not have a good reason to recommend Timeshare Help Source based on what we could find about them online.

Fortunately, while operations like Timeshare Help Source’s are a bit too common, there are legitimate timeshare exit companies out there. We make a point of reviewing and featuring those that are trustworthy, so people like you can stop being saddled with maintenance fees and overwrought contracts. To explore our list of recommended timeshare exit companies, you can visit this page.

Timeshare Elimination Group Review

Timeshare Elimination Group is another company that may be able to help you get out of a timeshare. Though it’s unclear when they were founded or where they are located, there are some indications that they are in Costa Mesa, CA; their website is marked as having been created in 2021.

Timeshare Elimination Group Website

The Timeshare Elimination Group website is certainly attention-grabbing — at first glance, the home page has very loud, large calls to action, where they claim to “specialize in timeshare cancellations and terminations worldwide,” and guarantee successful release from timeshare contracts. These are quite outlandish claims to begin with; the somewhat unprofessional look and graphics of this page makes these promises even more difficult to take seriously.

From the Home page, you can navigate to their services (from the “Read More” button) or contact form (“Fill Out the Form” button), or to another page from the top navigation bar. The sections listed are entitled Get Out of Your Timeshare, Can’t Get Out of Your Contract?, and Avoiding Timeshare Resale Scams.

Each of these pages does offer fairly legitimate-seeming information about how people get into timeshares in the first place, and the methods that resorts use to get people to sign up for them. On the Get Out of Your Timeshare page in particular, they include extensive descriptions of the presentations that are typically offered, as well as the different means of getting rid of a timeshare. There’s also decent advice regarding why one should be wary when it comes to the timeshare resale market on the page Avoiding Timeshare Resale Scams, including to “do your research before choosing a company to sell your timeshare,” and to “talk to a timeshare attorney. Many of them offer free consultations. Take advantage of their generosity and find out what your rights and responsibilities are.”

That said, the content on these pages is not well-written. Poor grammar and confusing phrasing both contribute to this problem. It did not give us the impression that the writer necessarily knew what they were talking about; it sounded more like they were simply recycling information that’s already available.

The page Can’t Get Out of Your Contract? in particular is where Timeshare Elimination Group’s promises are described, but even that information is vague. They say, “Our program details your consumer rights and the legal steps used to get you out of your timeshare,” and that they ”have the resources and the expertise to get the timeshare cancellation completed once and for all.” They also allude to having “a proven process,” but the following is about as detailed as they get regarding that:

  • “This timeshare termination service provides:
    • A guaranteed way to void any timeshare mortgage.
    • A proven method to cancel any timeshare contract.
    • A way out of your ever rising timeshare fees.
    • A never before seen insider’s view of the timeshare industry.
    • A knowledgeable manager to walk you through the entire cancellation process.
    • A simple exit strategy that doesn’t leave your heirs financially responsible.
    • Relief, freedom, and peace of mind.”

They also claim, “We also teach you how to get the premium timeshare property weeks for cheaper than you could as a timeshare owner,” which doesn’t seem like something a timeshare exit company should be interested in doing. Overall, it’s a lot of fluff that gets nowhere near to the heart of how Timeshare Elimination Group would actually help you.

In addition to this shortcoming, the website does not provide specific information about Timeshare Elimination Group as a company — meaning, about who owns it, where it is located, and how long it has been around. Searching for this information via Google brought up no results. That said, the main phone number on the website is actually the same phone number (minus the extension) for another timeshare exit company we recently reviewed, Client Protection Group. While this company is BBB-accredited, and has several positive reviews, the fact they are using another avenue to direct traffic their way without being transparent about who owns them is disconcerting.

Timeshare Elimination Group lists another website as the point of contact for getting out of a timeshare contract. Called WeCancelTimeshares, this website looks to be managed by someone called Steve Smith — a name that came up in Client Protection Group’s reviews — and has a few different websites and blogs (via Weebly and WordPress) that offer similar information, as well as a Pinterest page (with a few infographics saved) that says they’re located in California. They claim: “We Match Timeshare Owners with Timeshare Transfer companies, Timeshare Liquidation companies, and Timeshare Cancellation Law Firms, depending on each individual case.”

But their writing, like that of Timeshare Elimination Group’s website, is overall pretty devoid of substance. Not only that, but neither Timeshare Elimination Group nor WeCancelTimeshares came up in a business entity search, either in California or elsewhere. The WeCancelTimeshares websites all use the right keywords and phrases to discuss timeshare scams and timeshare exit, though, so we could only further conclude that these hubs exist to send people to Client Protection Group without outright saying that they do so.

Needless to say, this isn’t a very trustworthy practice. While every company has the right to advertise their services, this is shadier than outright advertising. It’s more of a front for doing business with Client Protection Group. That we could only find this connection by looking up Timeshare Elimination Group’s phone number makes it even more likely this is the case, and essentially impossible for us to evaluate this company as legitimate.

Timeshare Elimination Group Reviews

Since there was no business ownership information for Timeshare Elimination Group that we could find, there weren’t any reviews available, either. If you’d like to read about the reviews available for Client Protection Group, you can read our review of their company here.

Ultimately, we suggest working with a company that has been around long enough to have accessible online reviews on pages such as Yelp, Google, and the BBB that reflect their successes. All of the companies that we recommend have this in common; to learn more about which companies we encourage people to work with, visit this page.

Timeshare Elimination Group Cost

Costs are not listed on the Timeshare Elimination Group website. They do claim to offer a free consultation as well as a money-back guarantee; the latter is something we do not recommend engaging with. Generally speaking, money-back guarantees are another way of asking for upfront payments, which isn’t a good way to do business with a timeshare exit company. Instead, we always recommend working with a company that uses escrow for payment. You can learn more about why escrow is important on this page.

Avoiding Timeshare Exit Scams

The timeshare exit industry is unfortunately full of fraudulent businesses, as well as practices like these. The following are a few tips you can keep in mind to avoid any future scams while looking for a company that can actually help you leave a timeshare:

  • Don’t believe everything you read. Many scam companies rely upon using common industry phrases, but either do not use them properly or do not have information to back them up. They also tend to make exaggerated promises. A legitimate company will not overpromise in this way, and will give you the full details on how their process works.
  • Keep an eye out for upfront payments and/or nontraditional payment methods. Requests to pay via wire transfers or prepaid money cards are major red flags, but so are demands for upfront fees that do not use escrow, as well as agreements that do not have written contracts. No money-back guarantee is enough to promise that you will get a refund if a service does not go as planned.
  • Resist pressure to act quickly or pay for a service immediately. A trustworthy timeshare exit company will not attempt to push you into an agreement before you are ready. High-pressure sales tactics are huge red flags, and point to a company you want to avoid working with.
  • Always ask about licensing, identification, and insurance when it comes to local businesses. To get a better idea of which local businesses are trustworthy and reputable, always be sure to get more information about their licenses and insurance. Checking identification is wise as well, especially when it comes to businesses that deal with your money and personal information.

Summary

Based on several factors, including the fact that no company information exists for Timeshare Elimination Group, the likelihood that they’re simply a front for Client Protection Group to acquire more clients, and the fact that they are not actually a business, we certainly cannot recommend trying to exit a timeshare with them. It truly sounds like, if not an outright scam, just another means of taking your money before you give the real timeshare exit company even more money.

When it comes to getting out of a timeshare, you should be able to get everything you need from one reputable source, and not have to base your trust solely on money-back guarantees. Furthermore, you should know exactly who will be working on your contract, and what their professional background is. Fortunately, there are a handful of companies that we have found to be reputable and legitimate, and can definitely help you with your situation. You can review the list of companies we recommend on this page.

And if you still have questions about this company, another company, or getting out of timeshares in general, you can give us a call at 833-416-8796, initiate the live chat, or fill out the chat, or fill out the contact form on the right side of the page.

Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting Review

Timeshareclaim.net is the website for Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting, a Spain-based timeshare exit company that has been active since 2015 and may be able to help you get out of a timeshare.

Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting Website

At first glance, the Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting website looks very professional; it has a clean design, and smooth navigation. The home page has a well-made video that introduces the company and its founder. In some places, the copy is a bit stilted and hard to read; this could potentially be chalked up to it being English in translation, though some of the phrases used did not exactly seem well thought out or meaningful.

Overall there are several different landing pages and sections that give the reader a good idea of how Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting operates, and the results that they’ve achieved with past clients. Specifically, Rulings speaks to cases that have closed and contracts that have been nullified for past clients. The page Exit Plan gives an overview of how Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting works through canceling timeshares. The steps are specific, and the timeline provided looks realistic.

Their “about” section, entitled Know Us, does list their staff entirely, although there aren’t many details or last names, so it proved difficult to find any further background information on these individuals, aside from Maria Martinez, the CO (since her last name is included in the video noted above), and attorney Pedro Miranda Guillén, since it is listed that he works with the associated law firm AB ECO Group.

The professionalism of the rest of the website, unfortunately, is somewhat lost when it comes to their blog, the page TRC News. The content there gets fairly muddled within each post, and is hard to follow. While there could be several reasons for this, the most likely is that it is not a huge point of focus for the website, which is unfortunate since it’s a good means of learning more about the character of a company.

Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting Reviews

While we did not find reviews of Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting on Google, Yelp, or Facebook, the website Timeshare Business Check summarizes some feedback on this company from several people’s contributions. Notably, the page for Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting says:

  • Consumers have reported unsolicited contact from this company. If initial contact was unsolicited – a cold call or email or text out of the blue, it gives rise to concerns as to whether your data has been acquired and used legally. Unsolicited contact by phone, text or email is likely to be a breach of data protection laws and it is recommended that it is reported to the appropriate national data authority.”
  • “This business provides a number of different addresses…mails from this business state the address is Edificio Mercurio Torre I, Av. de Tirajana 37, 35100 Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, Spain — The T&Cs page list the contact address as C / Slovakia 25, 35120 Mogán, Las Palmas — The Infocil site gives the business address for Sakbo Spain SL as C/ Eslovaquia 25, Tauro 35140, Mogan, Las Palmas.”

These notes, while not reasons to dismiss this company outright, are certainly cause for concern. It should be straightforward to determine where a timeshare exit company operates, first of all, even if they have more than one office. Furthermore, unsolicited contact is a major red flag; we do not recommend engaging with companies who approach potential customers, as that is typically a means of taking advantage of and otherwise pressuring them into working together.

The blog Inside Timeshare — one that aggregates news about timeshares and exit companies in Europe — had further, somewhat similar information about this company. Specifically, they noted in a post from Jan. 2019 that a few companies associated with Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting had become notorious for cold calling as well.

  • Inside Timeshare has received information about another Cold Calling company Sim Legal Services, this in itself is not a problem provided that Data Protection laws are adhered to, the problem is the nature of the calls. The company is owned by Jeroen Martijn Brussel…there do seem to be some very serious concerns about Sim Legal Services, with the mention of several other companies they appear to be linked with. JB Legal and Timeshare Reclaim Consulting.”

They added:

  • Timeshare Reclaim Consulting do have a website and are known to Inside Timeshare, although we have never had any concern or reason to mention them in any article.”

And went on to say:

  • “The question is, are the management of TRC aware of the tactics of Sim Legal Services, the fact that they are making accusations against a competitor who is in the same vicinity and happens to be the leading law firm in timeshare litigation, in order to talk clients into signing up with them and then passing them to TRC?”

They then go on to say that Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting has been associated with another company whose practices have historically been questionable, known as Mindtimeshare. Mindtimeshare appears to be another aggregate that once seemed to focus on highlighting fraudulent timeshare companies, but in actuality was run by Alberto Garcia, a now-discredited individual who was also connected to the Resorts Development Organization (RDO). It’s been reported that once Mindtimeshare got people’s information, they passed it off to marketing companies who ended up hounding people with high-pressure sales tactics.

Furthermore, RDO is a resort-funded trade organization that is not only notorious for capitalizing off of timeshare misinformation, but also fairly fraudulent in itself.

The connections there go even deeper; here’s what the article continues to say about it:

  • “In another strange enquiry, we have been asked what is mindtimeshare doing now?

It appears that they have moved on from being a consumer association to something else. Our enquirer has told us that mindtimeshare is actively emailing those who have contacted them and recommending a firm for taking out litigation against clients timeshare companies. Apparently it appears that this company is TRC, mentioned above.”

Reviews of Mindtimeshare on Trustpilot confirm all of the above, and leave them with a 2.4 out of 5 star rating.

Ultimately, considering the history of Mindtimeshare, this association is not only problematic, but also a huge red flag. It’s quite difficult to ignore, no matter how professional this company appears to be on the surface.

Timeshareclaim.net / Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting Cost

We did not find any cost-related information about Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting, either on their website or in general. They do have several warnings on their website about not making payments ahead of time to any timeshare claim company, so that is a positive sign; we always abide by the rule that it’s best to work with a timeshare exit company who uses escrow for payment. You can learn more about escrow and why it’s important on this page.

That said, there is no copy related to whether or not they request as much. If you want to find out more about potentially working with this company, you can easily contact them via their website form.

Summary

While Timeshare Reclaim and Consulting appears to have established some clout as a timeshare exit company, the information we found about some of their practices makes it difficult to recommend their services. If you are in Spain and need to work with a timeshare exit company to help with a situation you’re stuck in, it may be worth it to continue your search and find someone who is more reputable and trustworthy.

Fortunately, in spite of there being many operations like this one, there are also several trustworthy timeshare exit companies that can help you with what you need. To read more about which companies we recommend and why they’re worth considering, visit this page.

If there is more you want to learn about one of these companies, or timeshare exit in general, you can get in touch with us. Give us a call at 833-416-8796, initiate the live chat, or fill out the contact form on the right side of the page to get started.

Timeshare Association Network Review

Timeshareassociation.net is the website for Timeshare Association Network, a company with offices in London and Madrid that may be able to help you get out of a timeshare. They have been active since June 2021.

Timeshare Association Network Website

Right off the bat, it was hard to not be skeptical of Timeshare Association Network’s promises considering the fact that they were founded so recently. Their website, at first, made this skepticism a bit difficult: in terms of design, it looks great. The navigation is also smooth and easy to use, and the pages are highly responsive.

However, when we started reading the actual content, that first impression faded quickly. It would be easy for someone in a desperate situation to get taken in by how nice the website appears. But the website copy reveals very little about who actually runs Timeshare Association Network, how they operate, and what their processes are.

Specifically, the first few pages in the navigation — Make a Claim and Cancel Your Timeshare — are quite devoid of anything substantial. Make a Claim is simply another “contact us” page, saying that “If you don’t know which route is right for you or where to start, our team of advisors are ready to talk and advise you on the best course of action for you,” without giving any information about what that course of action could look like.

Meanwhile, Cancel Your Timeshare looks like it describes the contract nullification process in full. But reading closely shows that it’s fairly superficial, definitely circular, and overall doesn’t necessarily say anything a reader wouldn’t already know:

  • Lets take a look at cancelling your timeshare contract. It may be that making a lawsuit or claim is not the best route for you given the amount you paid for your contract, it could well be that it is not profitable to proceed with a claim. Alternatively the recovery of monies may not be important to you but what you want is to get out of the legal obligations of your timeshare contract which is paying those extortionate maintenance fees each and every year.
  • The cancellation plan is a low cost legal process which requires the involvement of our legal clerks and lawyers, it does not require the presentation of a claim through the courts. With this process, our lawyers will initiate the ‘unilateral cancellation’ of your contract…”

This language may be accurate about the cancellation of a timeshare, but it still does not give Timeshare Association Network any credence as far as being the company you should choose to enact it.

The page Why Us is where one would expect to get more specific information about the team’s professional background, but even that is lacking. Instead, they make the outlandish statement that they “are successful in 100% of our legal claims,” and do not feature a single individual’s name or title — not even the person presumably on the Home page. There is a stock photo of a corporate team standing in for the “Timeshare Association Network Legal Team” (their caption), and the statement, “We can promise you our team of experienced lawyers and specialist legal consultants work in the best interest of you the client under FULL confidentiality regulations. However, this promise seems quite empty, as the reader gets no sense as to who these lawyers and specialists actually are.

On that note, while the Home page does feature someone named Richard Madsen, a “Legal Timeshare Expert,” further research led us nowhere insofar as finding out who he is or what his professional background is, and his name is nowhere else on the Timeshare Association Network website, including the Why Us page.

Finally, and perhaps most significantly, there’s a link in the footer navigation to Timeshare Association Network’s “Corporate Website” that leads to the website for CGO Media Ltd, a marketing and design agency that claims to have multiple clients from different industries. This could, in theory, explain the quality of the website at least on a visual level. However, a closer look showed us that Timeshare Association Network and CGO Media Ltd are, in fact, one and the same.

This is actually there in writing in the website footer, all the way at the bottom of each page: “Timeshare Association Network is a trading name of CGO Media Ltd.” More than anything else noted here, this is indicative that Timeshare Association Network is not what it seems, and certainly has no business making any kind of timeshare cancellation promises to anyone.

Timeshare Association Network Reviews

Though Timeshare Association Network does not have reviews on Google, Yelp, or Facebook, the website Timeshare Business Check summarizes feedback on this company from others’ contributions. It overall confirms exactly what we concluded from reviewing their website — that there is no real information about how Timeshare Association Network operates, and that they are the same business as CGO Media Ltd.

Specifically, they list the following under Observations/Comments:

  • The images of Richard Madsen and the legal team are stock images.”
  • “The website was registered 7 June 2021 and ownership details have not been disclosed.”
  • “The business is not regulated in terms of acting on behalf of consumers in regulated activities, such as making claims under the Consumer Credit Act or legal representation in court. It is therefore advisable to seek information in writing from them as to what precise process will be undertaken for the fees and what regulated persons or businesses would act as representatives where this is legally necessary.”

It is helpful to have this information verified. We also found it helpful to confirm it by researching CGO Media Ltd a bit further. That was how we found their Facebook page, which has 50 reviews, all of which are obviously fake. They’re all from Dec. 2013 and state over-the-top adoration for CGO (“Best page I ever seen,” “I really fall in love of the page,” “Everybody will get the most information from this page,” etc.) while awarding five stars.

Timeshare Association Network Cost

Cost is hardly addressed on the Timeshare Association Network website, aside from the company’s promise of a free consultation. On the off chance that you were to get in touch with this company to find out more about what they charge, we would first and foremost remind you that you should never engage with a timeshare exit company that requires upfront payment. This is a huge red flag, and usually indicative of a scam (not that we needed any further red flags to evaluate Timeshare Association Network as such).

We only recommend timeshare exit companies and professionals who use escrow for payment. Escrow is important because it means the company does not get paid until your contract has been cancelled, and you are completely satisfied with their work. You can learn more about escrow and why we recommend companies that use it on this page.

Summary

It does not take much to see that Timeshare Association Network is not a legitimate business and far from the first place you should look when you need to cancel a timeshare in Spain. Unfortunately, scams like theirs are incredibly common, but that does not mean they’re the only option for timeshare exit. We created this website to help people like you filter through what’s available, and find legitimate and trustworthy timeshare exit companies. To review the list of companies that we recommend based on thorough reviews, you can visit this page.

If you still have questions about your situation, or timeshare exit in general, please feel free to get in touch. You can do so by calling 833-416-8796, initiating the live chat, or filling out the contact form on the right side of the page.

Javier Correa Guimera Review

Javier Correa Guimerá is a lawyer based in Spain who focuses on timeshare exit cases and may be able to help you get out of a timeshare. He has been licensed to practice since 1990, and is registered with the Las Palmas Bar Association.

Javier Correa Guimera Website

Correa Guimerá’s website is something of a personalized page — it looks and feels a lot like a WordPress blog, which isn’t necessarily a negative, as it is mostly easy to navigate and to find information on it. Generally, the tone of the content strikes a good balance between personable and professional.  He appears to update the blog section quite regularly, especially with posts about issues with Anfi, a European timeshare company and resort group that seems, based on what we could find, to scam people quite regularly.

It’s on the blog where you’ll also find information about past and recent cases, which generally aim for a result of nullifying timeshare contracts. He does provide a great deal of detail here, and while some of the legal jargon might be trickier for a layperson to delve into, it’s generally easy to read and understand. This is a pretty reassuring detail as it gives more context to the work Correa Guimerá does in the absence of online reviews — something we’ll explore later on in this review.

In general it’s a bilingual site, meaning that there are both English and Spanish versions of several of the posts and pages. Since what is in English appears to be in translation, that content can be a bit difficult to read, but this isn’t an issue as much as it is something to pay attention to while reading.

Links to Correa Guimerá’s social media pages are included, and a quick look into these shows that he is also quite active there, especially on Twitter. His Facebook page does not have any reviews and appears a bit less active than his Twitter account.

Correa Guimerá’s bio provides an extensive recount of his general background and legal expertise. He has experience as a partner at other law firms as well as a solo practitioner, which is a solid plus. Overall, it is refreshing to have the specific history of a timeshare professional so clearly stated on their website.

Javier Correa Guimera Reviews

It was difficult to find reviews of Correa Guimerá’s work as a lawyer in the typical places, including Google, Facebook, and Yelp. This we found a bit curious, considering how long he has been a practicing lawyer. However, in part this could potentially be chalked up to a difference in cultural standards of reviewing businesses, as we did not find reviews of other Spanish timeshare exit companies on these platforms either.

We did find a number of in-industry testimonials, which are helpful to a degree, as they indicate that Correa Guimerá is known and esteemed for his work as a timeshare exit lawyer.

Specifically, we found that UK-based The Timeshare Association, a hub for European timeshare and timeshare exit company reviews that serves a similar purpose to this website, cited as much. Their words were that he is “respected by many professional lawyers.”

Likewise, the website Timeshare Business Check serves as an aggregate of timeshare-related businesses’ online presence and track records. It’s helpful in that it points out concerns and red flags. There are none listed for Javier Correa Guimerá on his page, which can be found through a simple Google search for “timeshare business check Javier Correa.”

Correa Guimerá is also noted as a reputable source on the European timeshare forum TimeshareTalk. On another forum, MoneySavingExpert, a user recommended him to someone struggling with a timeshare in Spain, saying “You would really need to consult a Spanish lawyer who specializes in Timeshare, a person who could help you is Javier…Javier is a long time contributor to TimeshareTalk and has helped people in the past.” This seems to indicate a level of engagement with the timeshare exit community in Europe that is consistent and authentic. This user’s post history seems to indicate that he is not actually Correa Guimerá himself, so that’s another plus.

In another post on TimeshareTalk, a forum administrator shared a news piece that not only offered further information on Correa Guimerá and his perspective, but also on how complicated timeshare issues can be in Spain and Europe in general. This is also fairly easy to find with a quick Google search for “Javier Correa Guimerá timeshare talk.” But to briefly summarize, most of the timeshares in Spain are in the Canary Islands, where their owners more often than not are known for swindling tourists. The Spanish Supreme Court hit several of these resorts with charges of fraud in the 2010s.

Correa Guimerá’s comments were mostly related to how this was possible in the first place:

  • The crux of the matter is that this business was launched before there was any legislation on the matter,” The legal void of the timeshare was fading with the years: in January 1999 a European directive of 1994 ( Law 42/98 ) was transposed , “which tried to bring order to madness, completely deregulated”, says Correa Guimerá. That law was fundamentally about addressing two problems that occurred with time sharing : “the question of the term and the indeterminacy of the object,” the lawyer points out.

Basically, the laws around timeshare ownership in Europe were always vague enough to easily be taken advantage of before they became overly deregulated in recent years. Lifetime contracts are not uncommon, but lately there has been more action taken to define these kinds of contracts as illegal and give buyers refunds.

Correa Guimerá has also been a contributor to the blog Inside Timeshare, another website focused on the European timeshare industry and particularly on unearthing fraudulent and questionable activity. A post from Sept. 2017 (“Start the Week”) cites that he emailed the blog owner a tip about a fake law firm that was running a scam; that post notes as well that he regularly posts timeshare tips on forums.

  • “Over the weekend Inside Timeshare received an email from Javier Correa Guimerá, a Spanish lawyer who…posts on various forums answering many question on timeshare matters.

His email referred to the articles published last week on the new fake law firm Amador Galeca Abogados, part of the Litigious Abogados family. He was commenting on the very strange names these so-called law firms use for their lawyers, he states they are not even Spanish, just by seeing the names he is sure it is a scam.

Another point he made was about the directors pleading guilty, asking where in this world would a timeshare company accept responsibility, willingly and pay up?

In this we must agree with him, we have never heard of any timeshare company accepting any responsibility or pleading guilty, quite the contrary, they always seem to deny any wrongdoing. All we can say is Inside Timeshare has made extensive enquiries about all these firms, searched for the lawyers, checked the cases with the courts and not one has proved positive.

Finally, we did find other footnotes about Correa Guimerá on the websites for TESS Law and Legal Claim Funder Ltd., two UK-based businesses that specialize in timeshare exit. From this we can further conclude that he is essentially an active member of the European timeshare exit community, and collaborates with other legal experts on a regular basis.

Javier Correa Guimera Cost

Cost is not cited on Correa Guimerá’s website, aside from the mention of free consultations being available. As noted above, the website also claims a “no win, no fee” policy, which can be promising, in that it isn’t a money-back guarantee, thus seems to imply that he does not require upfront payments. This is positive, as getting involved with companies and attorneys who demand as much is not something we recommend. Instead, you should always be sure you’re working with a company that uses escrow for payment. You can learn more about why escrow is important on this page.

Summary

Exploring Correa Guimerá’s online presence and background in timeshare law has brought us to the conclusion that, while his firm is worth looking into if you are in Spain and need assistance, it’s also a good idea to tread carefully before deciding to move forward. Since he has so few reviews, it’s hard to say outright that his work speaks for itself. But the support we found for his work on those forums cited above, and the fact that he does have a strong online presence (albeit in a different way than usual) was positive enough to not dismiss him as a timeshare lawyer. Overall, if you are looking for a lawyer like Javier Correa Guimerá, take advantage of the free consultation, find out as much as you can about his past cases, and be sure to never pay ahead of time for any services.

Can You Get Rid of a Westgate Timeshare?

Westgate Resorts is a family of resorts headquartered in Miami Beach, FL. Their timeshares can be exchanged through Interval International. They have timeshare properties located across the United States, including in Myrtle Beach, SC; Orlando, FL; Williamsburg, VA; and Gatlinburg, TN.

If you have a timeshare with Westgate Resorts, you may have one of many reasons for wanting to cancel it. Perhaps you haven’t been able to access the property regularly like you were promised, or the timeshare itself doesn’t look like you were led to believe it would. Maybe you feel that you were unfairly pressured into buying your timeshare during a sales presentation and now regret your decision.

When we looked into why most people seek to get out of Westgate timeshare, the following reasons stood out:

  • High-pressure sales tactics
  • Bait-and-switch practices, including units that did not match up with the models shown
  • Hidden charges and unexpectedly high maintenance fees
  • Passing off repossessed properties to new customers

More specific reviews on various platforms not only reflected these kinds of complaints, but also noted complaints of a more serious nature. The following are just a handful of them.

From Consumer Affairs:

  • “I don’t want to bore you with the details. These people are gainfully skilled to twist phrases, not completely answer questions and never issue the full contract until you are locked in. Take the free stuff, keep saying no. My family was told so many broken promises, were told it was unlimited weeks when there were speaking in reference to the hotels under interval international. We literally only have two weeks. We’re told that certain benefits were available after 30 days, that was [a] lie, nothing was available ’til after the full deposit was paid not the initial coins you’re offered. When your salesperson or direct contact realizes the lie, they never call back. They wait days and months after ’til where you are just stuck. Their excuse is you can always sell back. … Run as fast as you can.”

From Trustpilot:

  • “My husband and I were given a free stay by Westgate Resorts in Myrtle Beach, SC. We knew that there would be a timeshare presentation to attend, but was worth the free trip, at least we thought it was. We sat at the table with an enthusiastic young man and his “financial advisor” who worked together to get us a fair price and discount it as much as possible. Despite the many questions we asked they were never answered clearly. They made us feel like we were making a huge mistake if we decided not to buy that day! They failed to mention any kind of annual maintenance fees, fees for transferring my unused weeks to the next year, or what the actual cost of this purchase would be which I was absolutely floored by. We financed $44,000 and when we saw the insane interest rate of 15.9%, we decided to pay off a huge chunk ($30,000) so our investment would cost us less. We soon came to realize that we made a huge mistake allowing this company to convince us this was a real estate investment that would increase in value. In reality this purchase will have me and my family in debt for life. We will never stay with Westgate again, and I will advise the world that no one else should ever stay there. All they care about is the commission gained by the debt you will be walking away with, not only you, but your children too!”
  • “Do not fall for Westgate’s timeshare scam! My family & I attended a “seminar” in return for promised tickets to Sea World. The representative who met with us made us believe that booking vacations without owning a timeshare was way too expensive. We decided very early on we were not interested but when we asked about receiving the tickets, we were told we had to finish the tour. They continued by offering us timeshares at a very high price and we continued to say NO! The representative told us he could offer us cheaper timeshares from ones that were repossessed or foreclosed on. A red flag that was not clear to us at the time.

From the BBB:

  • “With all the deception we uncovered, we simply wish to cancel with a fair refund and move on with our lives. In this time we have also faced undue financial hardship as our income has dropped by 52 percent, having faced unemployment and reduced hours at work. Unfortunately, we were preyed upon during the pandemic and misled into signing a contract that had misrepresented benefits, not once but twice, and the investment of thousands of dollars into this venture has been devastating for our family.

Ultimately, it appears that Westgate timeshare properties fail to live up to expectations for many consumers, although some may be satisfied. According to online reviews, high pressure sales tactics may be used as well by the company’s salespeople.

Westgate Resorts’ ratings on these websites align with these reviews. We found that they had:

  • 09 out of 5 stars; 636 complaints closed in the last 3 years, and 232 complaints closed in the last 12 months
  • 4 out of 5 stars with Trustpilot
  • 2 out of 5 stars with Consumer Affairs
  • 1 star on Yelp
  • 9 stars on Pissed Consumer
As of Sept. 2021

Clearly, Westgate’s business practices are notorious with past customers and guests, so wanting to get rid of Westgate timeshare isn’t much of a surprise. Fortunately, if you’re in this situation, you do have options.

Timeshare Rescission

If you purchased the Westgate timeshare a few days ago, you may still be able to rescind the purchase. It will depend on the state you were in when you purchased the timeshare. Most states give timeshare owners between 3 – 15 days to rescind the purchase for a full refund.

Information about how to rescind the timeshare should have been included with the documents you received when you purchased the timeshare. In almost all cases, you ‘ll need to mail a letter to Westgate that states you’d like to rescind.  The address of when to mail the letter should be included in the documents you received when you purchased the timeshare.

When mailing the letter it’s important to mail using registered or certified mail so Westgate must sign and confirm that they received the letter. Otherwise, the company could claim they did not receive your letter in time.

Official Exit Program – Legacy Program by Westgate Resorts

Some resorts have an official exit program. In Westgate’s case, this is called the Legacy Program by Westgate Resorts. If you’re looking to cancel Westgate timeshare, this is the best place to start. Searching Google for “Westgate Legacy program” should help you find this program easily. From there, you could either use the phone number listed or navigate to the Contact Us page in order to try and get in touch with the Westgate team about canceling.

That said, based on the reviews and information we could find about Westgate, you may find that Westgate is unwilling to assist you with cancelling your timeshare. Finding a different way to get rid of Westgate timeshare may be your only other choice.

Class Action Lawsuit

Further research showed us that Westgate Resorts has been involved in several lawsuits in recent years. The primary class action lawsuit — Hambacker v. Westgate — was filed by hundreds of timeshare members in June 2020. Their practices noted above have also taken a toll on employees, who filed a lawsuit suing for unpaid sales commissions back in 2010 (Fredrick vs. Central Florida Investments, et al).

Here is a brief list of the class action lawsuits that plaintiffs have filed with Westgate Resorts:

  • Hambacker et al v. Westgate Resorts, Ltd., L.P. et al. – Case No. 4:20-cv-00833 (United States District Court Eastern District of Missouri)
  • Fredrick v. Central Florida Investments, Inc., Westgate Resorts, Inc., and Westgate Marketing, LLC – Case No. 3:19-cv-00418 (Eastern District of Tennessee)
  • Nathan B. Overton et al v. Westgate Resorts, Ltd, LP, et al. – Case No. E2014-00303-COA-R3-CV (Court of Appeals of Tennessee At Knoxville)
  • Westgate Resorts v. Shaun S. Adel and Consumer Protection Group, LLC – Case No. 20101017-SC (Fourth Judicial District Court in And for Utah County, State of Utah)

Westgate Resorts actually ended up filing a retaliatory lawsuit with the United States Supreme Court after losing an appeal of the Overton v. Westgate suit. While their case was ultimately declined, it’s quite telling that Westgate wanted to do this, most likely to set a precedent that discouraged further class action lawsuits.

That’s not Westgate’s only conflict involving the U.S. government. There was also the 2009 Central Florida Investments Inc., a Florida Corporation, et al., United States of America (for the Federal Trade Commission). This was filed by the FTC to hold Westgate Resorts accountable for violating the national “do not call list,” as well as for using other kinds of marketing tactics.

You should know that, if you are eligible to receive compensation from any of these lawsuits, you should receive a check in the mail. It wouldn’t hurt to contact the law office of handling the class action lawsuit though.

Summary

When you’re ready to take the next step to cancel Westgate timeshare, be sure you plan to work  with a company who has all of the resources to help you. You should definitely be sure, while exploring your options, to have a look at the companies that we recommend on this page. All of these companies have been thoroughly reviewed, and we can speak to their use of escrow for payment. Escrow is important because it means a timeshare exit company doesn’t get paid in full until after their work is finished. You can learn more about why escrow is important on this page.
