Forza Consumer Group Review

Forza Consumer Group is another company that may be able to help you get out of a timeshare. Their primary address is in Costa Mesa, CA, and they are registered in Colorado; they have been in business since June 2021.

Website

Forza Consumer Group’s website, from a design perspective, is straightforward, responsive, and easy to navigate. It looks clean and uniform, and has just a few main pages. It also includes a blog that offers interesting timeshare-related articles and looks otherwise well put together.

That said, while the website is clean, it still has a bit of an unprofessional look — inconsistent fonts and odd capitalization patterns playing into this — and the content shares a lot of problems with other timeshare exit companies’ websites. Namely, not only does it have grammatical and spelling errors scattered throughout, but it also asserts claims that are mired in vague language.

The home page’s claim that Forza Consumer Group has helped “thousands of clients” when they have only been operating for a few months is just one of these instances.  The About Us page has further assertions about what they do, including the following:

  • “Creating unique solutions in cancelling…timeshare contract[s]. We want to give the power back to the consumer in deciding whether they want a lifetime obligation to the resort.”
  • “Takes pride in communicating with our clients and updating them with real-time information about the progress on their case. Our client portal allows you to have 24/7 access to pertinent information on your file. Our skilled Exit Strategists are also available should you have any questions or concerns along the way.”

All of this sounds nice at first. But there’s not much more in the way of who these exit strategists actually are, or exactly how this team operates and creates these “unique solutions” aside from partnering with a firm called Molfetta Law.

Moving onto the page Our Process affirms that these statements don’t have a lot of weight behind them. Again, like many other timeshare exit companies, Forza Consumer Group uses a lot of filler language in describing how they actually get clients out of their timeshare contracts. They talk about an initial evaluation, processing documents, and providing updates, making the obvious statement that “each client case needs to be evaluated individually. Every situation is unique.” Yet this page’s section on “Strategies That Work” doesn’t actually outline strategies or talk details, which is definitely a sign to move forward with caution.

This trend continues with the FAQs page (which, ironically enough, states that “It’s all in the details”). Here, the company fails to give details on their general costs, and also makes a strange comment wherein they promise “to contribute a portion of their client fees to apply towards cancellation fees that might occur during the exit process.” Generally you would want to find a company that actually seeks to cancel your remaining fees, so it is not clear why Forza Consumer Group uses this as a selling point. Regardless, it is certainly something to keep in mind before engaging with them.

Reviews

Forza Consumer Group has very few online reviews, presumably because they are such a new company. Their BBB page has no reviews or complaints, but they can speak to being accredited and having an A- rating.

However, it’s difficult to give much credence to what should be positive signs, because a quick look into Molfetta Law, the law firm with which this company collaborates, shows plenty of red flags.

Molfetta Law, to be clear, is a law firm owned and operated by Michael Molfetta, located in the Costa Mesa/Irvine area. It has been in business since 2018. Molfetta is unaccredited and unrated with the BBB. The firm has several five star reviews, but also and has several one-star reviews on Yelp, Avvo, and LawyerRatingz that all speak to similar experiences.

Molfetta himself has been involved in a few lawsuits, including one with Diamond Resorts, alleging his own fraudulent activity and false advertising. These are easy to find with a quick Google search. Although this is a bit of a concern, it’s important to note that anyone can file a lawsuit for anything, but that doesn’t make the allegations true. Timeshare developers in particular file lawsuits against timeshare exit companies all the time. They don’t always win though.

If you’re in Southern California or the Orange County area and searching for a timeshare exit company, please take into account the complaints about Molfetta Law when considering hiring Forza Consumer Group. A company like this one is far from your only option. There are several other timeshare exit companies that are reputable and good for their word, and our reviews of them can be found on this page.

Cost

Forza Consumer Group promises a free consultation, like many other timeshare exit businesses. Their payment model seems to be preemptive, but since the language on their website is so murky, it’s not entirely clear whether or not it actually is.

We always seek to make it clear that working with a company who requires upfront payments is not a good idea. Instead, we recommend finding a timeshare exit company who only accepts payments through escrow. That way, you can be sure that they are not getting any of your money until they’ve fulfilled their promises. You can learn more about escrow and why it’s important on this page.

Advice on Avoiding Scams

One of the reasons we solely recommend companies that use escrow is the amount of timeshare exit scams that exist. Because there are so many, it can help to know what to look for in order to find the most trustworthy companies. To avoid getting involved in a timeshare exit or any other kind of scam, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Resist any pressure to pay for a service right away. A reputable company will never push you into working with them before you are ready. High-pressure sales tactics are red flags, and they indicate a business you want to avoid.
  • Ask about licensing, insurance, and identification with local businesses. To get clear about which local companies are legitimate, ask about licensing and insurance. You should also always check identification when it comes to anyone who will be dealing with your money and personal information.
  • Check the fine print and don’t believe everything you read. Most scams rely on common industry phrases to build trust, but they often fail to produce information that backs their claims. They can tend to exaggerate and make lofty promises as well. A responsible company will not do this; instead, they’ll give you details about how they will cancel your timeshare for you.
Summary

Unfortunately, based on the reviews of Molfetta Law, and the relative newness of Forza Consumer Group itself, we cannot recommend working with this company to get out of your timeshare at this time.

But there are several other companies that can actually help you get out of a timeshare. Again, to review our list of recommended companies, you can visit this page.
